"Okay, okay... Shh, calm down..." The knight tried to soothe her frantic nerves, using both the Force and his Zeltron pheromones to calm her down. She would be less likely to injure herself if she were calm.
"Just sit tight, okay... You're a tough girl. But I need you to be strong for me right now. Just stay here next to the glowlamp, close your eyes and count a hundred Banthas trying to jump a fence." He said, thinking of something that the Masters used to calm down young initiates.
"I'll go have a look. Just stay here." he said in a calm, collected voice as he stood up and looked around.
Outside the glow of the stick, the room was dark. But inside, he already knew what he would find... This girl was the only one he'd sensed.
Taking a step forward in the dark, he tried to maneuver his way around.
He made it into the next room before stopping and sighing as he spotted the crimson lekku dangling over the chair.
"Blast..." he sighed sadly before approaching the bodies. As predicted, they were dead.
Crouching beside the bodies, Chell closed his eyes and ran his hand through his hair.
'How do you tell a little girl her parents are gone...?' He asked himself, searching his mind and the Force for answers.
"The truth..." he finally muttered before making his way back.

"Wh... what's a Banfa....?" she asked, her 'basic' language translator turning her Ryl language to a language some called 'English.'
She closed her eyes. The gow of the glowlamp illuminated her ruby skin to an ivy green, her Lekku's still a darker red. Tears fell on the glowlamp as she cried. She knew her parents were dead.... but she didn't want to accept it. She wanted to accept the fact this was a really bad nightmare. That this man was someone trying to wake her up.
"I... is this a nightmare?" she asked, looking up at Chell. "Please say it is...." she cried out.

Chell felt crestfallen as she asked him if this was a nightmare. He wasn't good at these sorts of things. His species thrived on positive emotions and thoughts. When someone around him was sad, it brought him down completely.
"Come here, sweetie..." he said, holding his hand out for her as he picked up the glowstick. It wasn't good for her to stay cooped up inside the crashed ship. She'd probably already been there for several days already.
"Come outside with me and we'll talk, okay?" He said, trying to speak calmly to ease her.

She could see the dismay in his face a she asked if it was a nightmare. No answer....
It was reality.
Teas fell harder as she clung to his hand, her tiny red hands clasping around it and holding it tightly. "B... But mommy and daddy... you.... you can save them right? With..." she let a single, wet - from her falling tears - hand clasp to his belt, "something from this... right? Right?" she asked. She almost pleaded that he had something in that magical belt of his that could save her parents... even if for a second...

Chell sighed and pushed his large brown robe off his shoulders before wrapping it around the little girl's shoulders and taking a knee in front of her and putting a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry... There's nothing I can do." He said with sadness rife in his voice. He took a deep breath and continued speaking nonetheless.
"I know... It's difficult to understand right now, but you shouldn't cry over your parents. They have become one with the Force now. They'll always be with you, around you..." He said, motioning to the trees around him before very gently poking the girl over the heart. "-And in here too."
"The passing of life is an inevitable thing. We all are destined to go, but it is not something to grieve. But to celebrate. Cherish what you had with your parents. Remember them, and honor their memory. Don't feel sad for losing them, feel happy that they have become part of something vast and beautiful." He tried to explain. Unfortunately, trying to explain how the Force worked to a thirteen year old Jedi padawan was hard enough. Explaining it to a girl who just lost her parents in a starship crash is like explaining it to a Mynock.
"You will see your parents again, someday. But not today. Today, The Force wanted you to live. To survive this and to go on to do great things with the memory of your parents... Do you... Understand?" He asked, uncertainly.

As Chell explained that her parents had become part of the Force, at first, she thought the force was some giant monster-boogeyman-amalgamation thing. She cringed at the thought. Then he continued on. She shook her head, her Lekku's slappin her cheeks as she whimpered in slight pain. Hitting yourself with the most delicate and important part of your body isn't the greatest idea.
"I don't know what the Force is.... or what a Bantha is... or what a glowlamp is! And I don't even know who you are!" she cried out, still holding his arm tight enough to leave a red mark on his arm for a few seconds. "And my parents are dead......... and you're saying it's fine! That they've been eaten by some big monster called the Force!" she shouted, letting go of his arm and running away momentarily, only to trip on a piece of the wreckage. Blue blood oozed down her knee and elbow as she cried....
God she was a whiney brat.
She looked at the wreckage.... it was her father's backpack.... his various knicknacks.... his photos.... his items he received or found on his travels from planet to planet.... she sniffed, inhaling a choked breath. Her father went on expedition trips before she was born.. maybe he wanted to take her on a trip to some new planet they wanted to see......
She choked back as sobbing sound. "It was daddy's last trip.."

Chell tried hard to smile, but felt terrible for her despair. Again, he tried to encourage positive energy into her body to cheer her up slightly.
Following her stare, he spotted the bag and sighed before raising his hand and holding it out towards the bag. Mysteriously it lifted and then gently floated over and landed in her hands.
"The Force isn't a monster. It's... hard to explain." He said before sitting down and crossing his legs in the typical Jedi meditation position.
"Some describe it as an energy field that flows through every living thing. Through these trees around us, through the grass under our feet, through me, and even through you." He explained gently.
"It surrounds us, binds us, penetrates us... The Force is everywhere, and it guides those of us who are able to listen. Sometimes it speaks to us, helps us make difficult choices, lets us see where the right path leads." He said before unclipping his lightsaber and holding it on his palm, flat-side up. The silver hilt lifted and floated above his hand, spinning in circles.
"It helps us. But it is not a tool. It is an ally... And in death, you become one with it. You help to move the Galaxy forward, you help guide others who can listen and understand. That is why part of our Code is, 'There is no death. There is only the Force'."
The lightsaber dropped back into his hand and he set it aside.
"I know... it's very difficult. You're terrified... You're in pain... I can help you feel better. I can heal your wounds, but only you can heal your heart by understanding." He explained before reaching into his magical belt.
This time, he pulled out a silvery looking bar and pried away the covering to reveal a chocolate snack.
"Here, you must be starving, poor girl." he offered, holding it out to her. "Eat while I take care of your scrapes..."

As the man explained what the Force was, she looked around. She held her hand out to the air, as if to hold her parent's hand.
Then the man offered chocolate. Her stomach growled. Well.. no growled. It was more or less like a Tyrannosaurus Rex from Jurrasic Park. She hesitantly held the chocolate in her hand. She never tried this thing. She curled up, tears falling onto her hand and the chocolate as she bit into the corner. She chewed the chocolate, letting the taste settle in. "I.. It's really good..."

The Jedi smiled brightly at her as she munched on the snack, then reached down to part the robe over her legs to reveal her cuts and bruises.
He wasn't a healer - though the thought of them reminded him of Master Yolpa and the news of his death - but a quick glance showed no severe damage. She'd been walking without too much pain, so they weren't broken or fractured.
"You're a tough girl, you know that?" He said brightly, smiling up at her before he put a hand on her knee and closed his eyes. "Just relax, this will help."
For a moment, nothing happened. Then, a soft blue glow enveloped his hand and Mana's knee started to warm up. The pain went away almost instantly, and under his palm, the skin began to heal.
"So what's your name, Little One?" He asked, keeping his eyes closed for concentration as he healed.

"Manar'inri.." she whimpered as he asked her name. She took another bite out of the chocolate, hearing a light crunch from it. "It's a combination of my birth name and my clan name... Mana and Rinri." she explained briefly as she swallowed the ground up chocolate within her mouth. "Wh.. What's your name?"
