As one who's seen sites torn apart by internal conflict between members and staff, players and admins and just about everything else, I feel it is important to establish a charter. A document that clearly dictates the role of not only the members, but of the administration as well.
The following are law that all members of the forum, newbie to administrator, must follow in order to maintain a fair and fun creative environment for all.
1. The Administrators cannot supercede the in-universe decisions of the appointed Game Managers as long as their decisions do not break site rules. The Administrators exist to uphold Site rules and to help organize the forums for the Game Managers. They are not the overlords of all the Universes.
2. The Administrators will not police the Universes. If a Game Manager has an issue that needs Administrator help, they may ask for it at any time but it will be left up to the GMs to maintain order and stability in their own Universe.
3. Game Managers work as a democracy. There is a reason that you need at least two people to start a Universe. No one Game Manager, even if one of the Managers is an administrator, can overrule the other(s) for vital matters without first consulting the others. If a particular GM is found to be acting without the consent of the others, the other(s) may have him removed. In the case of there being only two GMs, the petitioner may ask the Administration to step in to resolve the matter in a special case.
4. Game Managers are to be fair and just with their players. They are not to hold double standards and give themselves great power while pushing members down. If a GM is causing problems enough for their members to complain to the Administration, and if evidence of it is found, they will be removed or replaced.
5. Members are to be understanding of the situation. There may be times when it seems as though a Game Manager is being unfair, however it is possible that they are attempting to create a situation to provide tension, suspense or drama. Members are asked to be patient and wait and see before reacting negatively. It also helps to ask your GMs questions as well.
6. The Administration works as a loose democracy. Some of us are better at certain things than the others and have special talents, however no one Administrator is above the others. For matters of importance such as banning members for more than three days, deleting Universes, and Site rules, all three must discuss and vote on the matter. Minor matters such as banning members for rule infractions for up to three days and bots, member applications and organizing the board for new Universes need not be brought to committee and one can act on their own.
7. Permanently banned members are permanently banned. If your little brother got on your computer and cybered on the forums then we don't care, you are responsible for your account. Minor offenses will earn you a three day ban. A repeat minor offense will earn you a two week ban. Your third strike is a permanent ban. You can still be permanently banned on the first offense if it is deemed bad enough.
If issues arise in the future, then more may be added, however what is posted is iron clad and is done so that everyone may feel they are being treated fairly. We hope to give everyone the best experience at CasualRP and we will take any and all concerns and complains seriously. Alternatively, if anyone from even another site is bothering you about something related to CasualRP, do not hesitate to come to the Administrators and I, Nero Maxim, will personally do everything I can to help you.
On behalf of the administrators, I would like to wish you all a great writing experience here at CasualRP.
Thank you for joining us, and we hope you continue to enjoy the site!
