Where we are…
Having no time to greave for his village and for Serena, Chiruresu is brought back to the Tenth Division headquarters for a debriefing. It was during this time he was told of the incoming Hollow hoard and the declaration of the next Great Hollow war. With his Captain at his side, Fletcher was brought up to speed with the current progress of defenses as well as attack patterns.
In a surprise move, Variel, Captain of the Tenth division, told Chiruresu that after the war he would become the Vice-Captain of the Division. Clearly shocked at this development, he had little time to accept before he was called to lead his division to the front lines.
While aiding the Commutation Division, both divisions were overwhelmed by both enemy forces as well as the appearance of several extremely hollow lords. Doing his best to stall, Chiruresu added to the diversion launched so others could get away in time. Escaping at the last second with his second, Shi Mae, the exit portal was completely destroyed when the communication towers fell. The resulting crashed caused Chiruresu’s teleportation path to be greatly altered.
Arriving at the shinigami academy, the Tenth division member was instantly through against the hoard. Death and chaos seemed to be everywhere at once as the seasoned shinigami hacked and slashed his way through. With the inclusion of more hollow lords into the battle, everything almost seemed lost. That was until Variel and another captain class shinigami joined the battle at the last possible second. Driving back the hollow lords into a retreat, the Gotei celebrated a sizable victory. Soon after the defeat, the entire hollow host left the battlefield and Soul Society entirely.
Helping with the wounded, Chiruresu did what he could before he reported back to his division. Upon returning, he was welcomed with shocked stares and astonished gasps. Through various means, Chiruresu learned that his Captain and friend was missing and presumed dead. Added to the fact that many believed he himself to be dead as well, everyone in the Tenth division was in deep mourning.
Being nominated acting Captain due to circumstances, Chiruresu ventured to the Captain’s office only to find it vandalized almost beyond repair. Rushing to his room, the man also found his own living space also virtually destroyed. Panic as well as worry filled the fatigued warrior as he rushed back to the common area. Grabbing Shi Mae, Fletcher questioned her about recent events and who had come and went the headquarters. When he found out that several Noble House members had stormed in and headed straight for the Captain’s office, Chiruresu left the confused woman behind and rushed towards the room.
Locking the door behind him, Chiruresu began to search through the wreckage. Shifting though it all, something caught his eye. Upon exploring the oddity further, he found Variel’s personal information vault. That instant, several powerful pressures scratched the man’s senses. Rushing forward, the battled worn shinigami located several documents that were labeled either ‘Classified’ or ‘Top Secret.’ Taking what he could, Chiruresu left the vault and ventured out of the office. With even more pressures incoming, Fletcher’s back was against the wall. Seeped in panic, the man made a reasonable, but rash, decision.
Ordering everyone out of the building, several men stayed behind that Chiruresu identified as Noble House moles. Not wanting to risk a lengthy battle, Fletcher expanded his pressure to its max and the result was the utter destruction of the Tenth Division headquarters and everyone left inside.
Dashing away from the scene, documents in hand, Chiruresu encountered the a division Captain by the name of Yoshiro. At that exact moment, a large death squad appeared and Fletcher was indeed between a rock and a heard place. Forced to do battle with the Captain, Chiruresu convinced Yoshiro to let him go and rushed off through the Gotei, while all of its alarms blearing into the nigh.
Using all of his wits and skill, Fletcher made it passed untold guards and other shinigami without killing a single one of his comrades. With the main gate in sight, the man made a break for it but was injured in the process. With the death squad at his heels, Chiruresu made it through the gate just as it closed. Though he didn’t know his destination, the now outlaw shinigami knew that his new status as a rogue would have almost every shinigami besides Captain come out of the woodwork for his head. Clutching his back, the rogue shifted further the portal towards his new destination…
